Socogzilla takes over the parkScreenprint on cartridge paper. July, 1998. |

Near where I used to live there are two lovely parks where I liked to walk my dog Flipper. Unfortunately, it is often used as a car park. Go figure. For the four years leading up to the Olympics, it and the nearby park were almost completely taken over as a car park The locals were given very little chance to change any part of the development and this poster was made as a response to the Governments attitude. My friends from art school and I put up about 20 of these posters one evening after dark, only to find that all but two of them had been removed by am the next morning. So much for free speech! At the same time that SOCOG was riding roughshod over local residents, there were also mutterings about what to do with Sydney's homeless people during the Olympics. I dealt with that in "Socogzila and the Homeless" |
